Ten months before her historic presidential election victory last year, Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah had arrived in Uganda leading Namibia's delegation for the 19th Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Summit in Kampala.
At the time, she came in the capacity of vice-president of the southern African nation.
On the sidelines, the future president and her team toured the newly refurbished Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo in Uganda's capital.
The delegation was impressed by the work done by Ugandan businessman Hamis Kiggundu, widely known as Ham, in solely realizing an advanced world-class stadium in Uganda.
Fascinated by Kiggundu's work, Nandi-Ndaitwah, who is now 72, invited Kiggundu to build a modern stadium in her home country.
Following that encounter in Kampala, she hosted Kiggundu and fellow businessman and Honorary Consul of Namibia to Uganda, Godfrey Kirumira, for business meetings.
Months later, she also invited the duo for her historic inauguration as the first woman president of the desert nation of Namibia, having won elections that extended the ruling party's (SWAPO's) 35-year grip on power.

The ceremony in Windhoek was also attended by heads of state from several countries on the continent, including Tanzania, Angola and South Africa.
His invitation to such a high-profile event galvanized Kiggundu's ambition of exporting agro processed products to Namibia and the other Southern Africa countries — through Ham Group of Companies.
He is now relishing this prospect, a development he confirmed after attending the swearing-in ceremony in Namibia's capital.
"We want to open the market for our agro processed products from Uganda to all the Southern African nations," Kiggundu, the CEO of Ham Group of Companies, told New Vision.
Ham Agro-Processing Industries, a company within the Ham Group of Companies, is focused on transforming agricultural produce into wealth, processing fresh fruits into juice, and distributing products globally.
The goal is to add value to Ugandan agro produce and improve farmers' incomes.
