NATIONAL BUDGET READING 2026

Tony Otoa: Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, Uganda National Oil Company

Uganda National Oil Company controls 15% of East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP). Therefore, the funding towards the operationalisation of EACOP is a very welcome development, especially as we get into the final lap to first oil. This is imperative to ensure that we have our crude oil evacuated to international markets without any further delays.

The same goes for the refinery. We are almost done with the upstream developments, casting the spotlight on the refinery. It’s is a very strategic infrastructure project for the Uganda and the region overall. Funding towards its development it’s a very important investment to get it done in time.
