Airtel Uganda gained sh0.55 to close Monday’s trading session at sh171, a 0.32% rise at the Uganda Securities Exchange (USE).
The telecom traded a volume of 9,350 shares at that price. The counter opened the session at sh170.45, with bids of 151,500 shares at sh171 against offers of 5,700 shares at sh175, according to market data from Crested Capital.
Overall, the rest of the market was subdued. MTN saw the heaviest activity of the session, with 300,850 shares changing hands at sh435, though the price held steady.
Stanbic Holdings also recorded significant volume, 3,220,500 shares at sh101, with the price unchanged.
Other counters, BATU, BOBU, DFCU, NIC, QCIL, UCL and Umeme registered no deals and closed flat at their previous prices. NVL saw modest activity, with 100 shares trading at sh148, also unchanged.
