93% of mobile money transactions don’t exceed sh50,000 – BoU
The number of registered mobile money customers as of June 30 2023 stood at 42.9 million reflecting a 11.4% increase from 38.5 million in June 2022.
The report indicated that the value of mobile money transactions ‘significantly increased by 22.6% to sh191.3 trillion in June 2023 compared to sh156 trillion recorded in June 2022.
