The 37-year-old self-employed business strategist from Lubowa has been an ardent attendee of the Bride and Groom Expo where he finds business opportunities, but he had never been a winner.

“I did not know coming here would bring a thrilling moment for us,” Meru who came to the expo with his wife said upon being announced the winner.

“I was consistently asking her hey! Did you fill in our names,” he said excited “I am humbled by this moment,” he said.

Mweru was actually thinking the night had come to an end and was asking me to leave within to check up the Mestil hotel, but I asked him to wait a little,” Phionah Watsemba the partner, mother of his two children a girl and boy, and a clinical officer at Vanguard Pharmacy Lubowa, said.

Both of us have never been to Mombasa or flown out of the country we are looking forward to this honeymoon experience in Diani.

Another lucky winner of the night was Ronald Kasozi a carpenter from Bweyogere. He won a two nights stay for two at the Mestil Hotel.

I have never been to this hotel I only see it on Bukedde TV. I will go with my wife,” Kasozi amidst cheers and deafening ululations from the crowd as he was joined by his wife Lyton on stage.

The first winner of the grand draw to be announced on the night was Proscovia Ndagire who will be able to get a gown for her wedding day from Penny Bold Bridals. Unlike other winners who had to be present to win, Ndagire was lucky to be called on phone to be informed of her luck before the rules changed.

The 14th edition of the Vision Group Bride and Groom Expo held from June 23-25 at the Lugogo multipurpose hall in Kampala was held under the theme “Love is in the Details” and it drew a much larger attendance compared to the year before.
