Wedding décor is no longer just about elegant flower arrangements and neatly covered chairs. Couples are increasingly investing in creating unforgettable experiences for their guests, a shift that industry experts say is redefining Uganda’s wedding scene.
The trend was evident at the 17th Bride & Groom Expo 2026, organised by Vision Group under the theme, Beyond I Do: A Journey of Love, Home and Family. Salma Najjuko, the team lead at SLEEQ AD Events, said modern wedding décor has evolved into a full-scale production rather than simple venue styling.

“People now appreciate the true value of décor. It is no longer about covering chairs and placing flowers,” she said. “We create an entire concept with lighting, floral arrangements, ceiling installations, flooring and beautifully designed bridal areas. It is a complete experience.”
According to Najjuko, today’s couples are paying greater attention to the atmosphere they create, ensuring every detail leaves a lasting impression on their guests.
“First impressions now begin long before guests enter the reception. Couples want stunning entrances that instantly wow their guests. They are paying attention to the overall feel of the venue from the moment someone arrives,” she added.
A hub of inspiration
For Tracy Angela Among from Mengo, the expo is more than just a marketplace; it is a source of fresh ideas and inspiration. “Everyone planning a wedding or any special event should come here. It gives you a starting point, helps you connect with service providers and makes planning so much easier,” she said.

Maria Nabakooza from Buwama, who attended the exhibition with her husband as they prepare for their introduction ceremony and wedding, said the expo provides an ideal opportunity to compare service providers before making important decisions.
“We are hoping to find reliable service providers and quality products so that by the end of the exhibition, we will have everything we need for our special day,” she said. With hundreds of exhibitors, organisers say the Bride & Groom Expo continues to strive to meet the needs of the sector.

The exhibition showcases everything from bridal fashion, beauty products and transport services to décor specialists, photographers, cakes and other wedding solutions, giving visitors the chance to compare services, gather contacts and confidently plan the celebration of their dreams.
The three-day event that is ending today was sponsored by Pepsi, Bella Wine and The Looks Bespoke, in partnership with Sheraton Kampala Hotel, Oppein Uganda and Roke Telecom.
