Weddings are a celebration and a costly affair, as even the most frugal couple will feel the pinch when planning nuptials. It is for that reason that couples go on the prowl for a bargain hunt.

They will search high and low to fi nd something good that suits their tastes and preferences, and sits within their budget.

The 17th Bride & Groom Expo, running on June 26-28 at the Uganda Manufacturers’ Association multipurpose hall in Lugogo, Kampala, is the place to be for couples seeking quality products and services.

The Bridal Zone is one of the bridal gown exhibitors that will give brides to-be an array of wedding gowns at affordable prices.

The bridal shop at The Boulevard, on Kampala Road, is owned by two sisters; Hannah and Selamawit Teki, who have urged the public to attend the expo to get a chance to buy a wedding gown at a discount.

“We will give out fliers at the expo, and the brides-to-be will, after the expo, bring them to the shop and get a discount of 10% on wedding gowns,” Hannah Teki said. She, however, explained that the discount has a one-month window after the expo.

“The discount starts on June 26 and will run until July 26; from the beginning of the expo to a month after,” Teki said.

She also shared a tip for brides- to-be as they search for the wedding gowns at the expo, saying: “Come with an open heart. Come ready to try on any dress and wear the dress you feel, the dress you love.”

Themed Beyond I do: A journey of love, home and family, the expo promises much more than wedding products and services.

Alongside exhibition of wedding-related items such as gowns, suits, cake, decoration and jewellery, the expo will present exhibitors in finance, homes, lifestyle and wellness, among others.

This means the expo will encompass all the other facets of life that a couple will experience.

Fiona Tamale, the Vision Group events manager, said: “We have expanded beyond traditional wedding categories to include home solutions, investment opportunities, health and wellness, and family services. This creates a one-stop platform for anyone planning not just a wedding, but a future.”

Tamale reiterated, saying: “Love doesn’t end at ‘I do’— that’s where the real journey begins. This expo is designed to support couples every step of the way, helping them build strong foundations for lasting relationships and thriving homes.”

On the support end, the expo will have experts to discuss several issues that are generally faced in marriage and life in general.

Speakers will delve into pertinent subjects such as intimacy in marriage, home financing, financial discipline and infertility, among other topics.

Fortunately, for all the goodies that the expo will have, attendees will only have to part with sh10,000 as the entry fee. Surely, this makes the expo the best bargain on Kampala’s social calendar.
