A magnificent wedding is what most couples desire, and to achieve that dream, flowers are a must for the wedding decoration.

Flowers beautify the wedding venue, church pews, and wedding arch. They are also used as reception centrepieces and ceiling decorations.

Will it be plastic or fresh flowers for your special day?

“Artificial flowers are in vogue,” says Amon Bazira, a wedding decorator and Director A-Classic Events situated in Kampala.

“They have become more realistic and popular. We usually merge artificial and natural fresh flowers to make it good and bring a charming difference,” he says.

Bazira explains that there are different types of artificial flowers; both expensive and cheap. 

“The cheap artificial flowers look really cheap, whereas the expensive ones look natural.

“To have the best wedding deco, it is better to use the expensive artificial flowers and mix in some fresh flowers.”

Will it be many or few flowers to make a floral statement?

“Some brides want visibility and grand floral decorations, with the flowers covering much of the venue and the tables, others want few flowers, but still outstandingly beautiful,” says Bazira.

“The best effect is to strike a balance to get the spectacular result.”

“For brides who may not want too many flowers to have that beautiful decoration for your wedding day, accessorise,” he advises.

“Use other adlibs such as candles and pots to spice up the tables, and have a magnificent atmosphere at the wedding,” he says.

The Bride & Groom Expo 2024 will be the place to learn about flowers.
