Nurse wins dream Honeymoon at Bride & Groom Expo

KAMPALA - Justine Nakyingi, a nursing officer at Mulago Women’s Specialised Hospital, has become the first lucky winner of a honeymoon getaway to Entikko Safari Lodge, tucked deep in the heart of Murchison Falls National Park.

Nakyingi, who was attending the Bride & Groom Expo 2025 to plan her upcoming wedding to fiancé Martin Agaba, was all smiles after winning the luxurious three-day, two-night stay at the five-star safari lodge.

“I honestly wasn’t expecting this,” she said, still clutching her entry ticket. “We came to look for wedding vendors, but this is the perfect start to our journey together.”





Winners Galore on day one

Nakyingi wasn’t the only one to leave with more than she came for. Other lucky guests at the Bride & Groom Expo on Friday also walked away with exciting prizes:

Ali Kudrat won a one-night bed-and-breakfast stay at Fontis Residences and Hotel with his spouse, Derrick Luboobi and Maria Arinaitwe each received bottles of premium wine from Bella Wine, Kigozi Sula was the first winner of the day, bagging a lunch voucher for two at Café Javas. “I’ll eat anything they bring!” he joked.

Salima Magdalena also won a Café Javas lunch voucher. “As long as it’s food, I’m good,” she said with a laugh. Crazy Deals rewarded two lucky attendees, Caroline Kalyango and Vicky Namatovu, with shopping vouchers worth Sh50,000 each.

The Bride & Groom Expo 2025 is taking place at UMA Showgrounds through Sunday. Tickets go for just Sh10,000 per person. With headline sponsors including Pepsi (under Crown Beverages), The Looks Bespoke, and Bella Wine, and partners like Café Javas, Entikko Safari Lodge, Fontis, Dream & Dress, Roke Telkom, and Izu Treats, the expo offers everything from bridal gowns to honeymoon deals, and plenty of surprises in between.
