Eng. Asiimwe’s educational background reads like the profile of a global energy strategist. He holds an Executive Master’s in Oil & Gas Governance and Management (2019–2022) and is currently a PhD scholar specializing in Stakeholder Engagement in the oil and gas sector. His portfolio includes certifications in Mining and Petroleum Engineering, Project Management credentials from London and Liverpool, and practical experience that stretches from Uganda’s Albertine basin to international development corridors.

With extensive roles in Uganda’s extractives sector, Eng. Asiimwe has served as Project Development Engineer for major players like Mota-Engil Uganda, Optima Mines, and Q3 Energies. He is also the Executive Director of Jonard Conglomerate Investments Ltd and chairs the Institute of Mining, Metallurgical & Petroleum Engineers Uganda (IMMPE-U).

His fingerprints are on major national projects, including the planning of Kabaale International Airport in Hoima, oversight of the Tilenga Quarry Project in Buliisa, and multiple ESIA/NEMA-certified projects from Karamoja to the capital.

Beyond technical roles, Eng. Asiimwe has become a household name through his frequent expert commentary on platforms like NTV, NBS, UBC, Bukedde, and Bunyoro TV. He has also been profiled in New Vision for his transformative contributions to Uganda’s infrastructure and energy landscape.

In politics, Asiimwe has proven to be a loyal and effective NRM mobilizer. As Hoima City’s NRM Chairman and the former Parliamentary Flag Bearer for Hoima East City Division (2022–2026), he has been central to electoral mobilization and ideological education. Since 2016, he has also chaired the Society of Mining Engineers Uganda, reinforcing his leadership credentials in both professional and political spheres.

He is widely credited for driving NRM’s grassroots success in Bunyoro sub-region and for his emphasis on mindset change as a foundation for sustainable wealth creation.

As the NRM charts its path toward socio-economic transformation, voices within the party are increasingly advocating for the inclusion of competent technocrats in top decision-making bodies.

“Eng. Jonard represents the fusion of intellect, patriotism, and grassroots connection that the NRM needs in its next phase,” said a party delegate from Kibaale. “He understands not only the science behind our economic engines but also the social fabric that binds our communities.”

As a CEC member, supporters believe Asiimwe will offer strategic guidance rooted in real-world expertise, especially as Uganda moves to fully exploit its oil and mineral wealth under Vision 2040.

With a campaign theme grounded in transformation — “From Minerals to Mindset, From Projects to People” — Eng. Asiimwe is calling for a leadership model that links resource wealth to human development.

His candidacy is seen not only as a generational shift but as a strategic move to institutionalize continuity, discipline, and innovation within NRM ranks.
