Hundreds of farmers are expected to attend a masterclass training that will bring together experts from the dairy and poultry industries to share knowledge and experiences aimed at transforming farms into profitable businesses.
The masterclass is scheduled for Saturday, August 22, 2026, at Kasirye Breeders Farm in Nakaziba Village, along Mityana Road in Mityana District. The training will equip farmers with practical knowledge and skills to transform their farms into commercially viable businesses.
Organised by Vision Group through the New Vision Foundation, in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Uganda, the masterclass is sponsored by Koudijs BV, dfcu Bank and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. It will run under the theme, “Maximising Earnings from Dairy and Poultry Farming.”

The training will be hosted at the farm of Hood Kasirye, the overall best farmer winner in 2025. Participants will receive practical lessons on poultry and dairy enterprises, according to Joshua Kato, editor of Harvest Money pullout at Vision Group.
“We have always hosted the masterclass training at the farms of our best farmer winners with the aim of giving trainees an opportunity to tour the farm and learn from the best farmers,” Kato said.
He called upon farmers and those interested in venturing into commercial agriculture to attend the training in large numbers. The training will be free, with experts available to answer farmers’ questions on how to transform their farms into profitable businesses.
Kasirye said the training will bring together experts in different aspects of poultry and dairy farming. Topics will include farm establishment, breed selection and general farm management, among other key aspects of running successful enterprises.
