Kamateneti was born on April 16, 1982 to the late Tadeo Kanyankore-Kakiga and Norah Twinomugisha of Nyabushenyi village in Nyabushenyi sub-county, Ntungamo district.

She is married to Sande Baata-Kaketto, a former district councillor of Nyabihoko sub-county and they have four children.

Kamateneti went to Nyakisa Primary School for her primary education, then joined Hornby High School in Kabale, where she completed her O’level. Thereafter, she moved to Immaculate Heart Nyakibare Girls’ Secondary School for A’level.

She then joined Makerere University Kampala, where she pursued her bachelor’s degree in commerce, specialising in finance.

Kamateneti worked with Crane Bank, before joining Bank of Uganda, where she was working as an accountant. Before joining politic, Kamateneti was running a business in Kampala dealing in printing and stationery.
