Ahmed Zinhom Ibrahim Selim, 32, was a resident of Camp Swahili ward in Soroti city west division.

He was last seen alive at his residence on the evening of February 23. He was reportedly in the company of two friends at the time.

The following day (Saturday), his employee — one Mark Kisolo — is said to have gone to check on him at his home but did not find him after letting himself in.

A case of disappearance was registered at the Police in Soroti City East division.

At the time, the Police said they suspected foul play "based on the analysis of the victim’s house by a team of detectives and crime scene officers". A pair of trousers of the missing man was last seen and was recovered.

The territorial Police then asked the public to provide any information on the whereabouts of the missing man.

On Saturday afternoon (March 2), East Kyoga Police spokesperson Oscar Gregg Ageca said Selim's body had been found in Awoja swamp.

In a statement, he said they have so far arrested five people as persons of interest in the matter. They include four Egyptian nationals and one Ugandan.
