Military Police officers have been urged to be professional when dealing with civilians.

The call was made by Military Police commandant Brig. Gen. William Bainomugisha at the closure of a two-week leadership workshop on Wednesday, December 20.

A press statement said he told them that discipline and being exemplary should be paramount in their daily lives and in the execution of their duties of enforcing discipline in the Uganda People's Defence Forces.

Col Justus Musenene, the Military Police brigade operations and training officer, said the workshop enhanced cohesion between the command and staff, bridged the gaps and improved the discipline among the officers.

One of the participants, a high-ranking officer, said the workshop equipped them with the knowledge and skills that will assist them while performing their duties.

Those who attended the workshop included commanding officers of units under Military Police, heads of departments and regimental sergeant majors.
