As Senior Four final examinations (Uganda Certificate of Education) started this morning, nine bus crash victims who are also candidates of Midland High school in Kaberamaido district managed to turn up, except two. 

Midland High School headteacher John Baptist Ekou says the Uganda National Examinations Board (UNEB) has sent three transcribers to help the three crash victims who are unable to write.

On September 28, 2023, Midland High School candidates got involved in a motor vehicle crash where two students died on the spot. The crash happened at about 3:00am at Awoja on the Soroti-Mbale highway.

The crash at Awoja Primary School happened after the bus REG. NO UG-1951E of Busitema University operating the school shuttle rammed into a stationery trailer Truck REG NO. UAQ-718, which was parked on the highway.  

Kaberamaido examination area supervisor, Michael Mugabe, says there is only one candidate of Oloment SS who has not received her low vision exam paper and has been forced to sit for the paper for those with normal vision.

Meanwhile, district inspector of Schools Molley Monica Alweyo says the exams had started well except for the challenge that Midland High School has.

The UNEB scout manning Kaberamaido examination area, Noeline Nabukenya, says the UCE exams had started well.

Kalaki school registers 100% turn up

In Kalaki district, Lwala girls SS in Kalaki district has registered 100% turnup of the S4 registered candidates writing the ongoing 2023 UCE UNEB examinations.

Headteacher Grace Apio says all the 49 registered S4 candidates are present and are currently writing their examinations peacefully.

Apio attributes the 100% turn up to the prayerful nature of students that made them become so confident to all turn up for the UCE examinations.

Senior four candidates’ country wide this morning started writing their UCE UNEB examinations with Geography paper one which examinations will run until November 17th.
