The Same old song! The future is Digital. Why apple made $ 1 trillion in the last 6 months.

A lot has been sang about “going Digital” but few often understand what that actually means. Simply making your product available digitally doesn’t cut it.

It took apple over 40 years to make its first trillion dollars and the second one came in a matter of months why? Because they understood what going digital meant.

Let’s break this down,

Firstly, they understood that for you to make money in the digital era you need to speak to each and every one of your customers, provide them with an experience that will keep them with your product, listen to what they don’t like and make iterations on improvements. never force any concept on your customer, treat him like a king and he will be willing to spend!

 

This week, Vision Group officially unveiled a one-of-a-kind digital experience that offers Augmented Reality ability. This allows the people reading Vision Group newspapers to also watch videos off their newspapers. Such functional digital innovations give you an edge in the 'digital race'

 

Secondly, they did not only stick to one product line they found out ways to brunch into other product lines while sticking to their core business, by this I mean apple is a phone manufacturer, a payment moderator and ‘bank’, a series and movies production company, a media house among other things. By doing this they have managed to provide solutions just beyond their hardware to their customers.

Thirdly, they used the data! Quite simply put they looked at the patterns of their users and have managed to know how best to serve them in so doing thy have increased their presence for being needed by their customers.

Now people will always say ‘But Felix that is apple me as a small company what does it do for me’ to them I say this, Once you understand the concept of going digital and you know that with digital your audience is not just 42 million Ugandans with 5 million smartphones but 76 billion people with over 3 billion smartphone users worldwide they you are on the money. If even just 1 million people bought into your idea they you my good friend are looking to chase apple the same way apple has chased credit card companies like Visa and MasterCard with their ApplePay!
