Ochola says Lubwama has left an indelible mark, which cannot be easily erased and that the Uganda Police Force (UPF) is saddened by his demise.

“Our hearts are heavy, knowing he's gone forever. For decades, Lubwama, made people laugh and revolutionised comedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with his immediate family, friends, fans and well-wishers,” Ochola tweeted.

The IGP also described Lubwama as a cultured man who he says dedicated his entire life to entertaining others.

Lubwama’s death was first announced by business associate and events promoter, Andrew Mukasa alias Bajjo on June 7, 2023, after the late had battled heart-related complications.

“He was cultured, a highly intelligent music and play writer, satirist, who dedicated his life to entertaining all of us. Even in illness, he would make everyone laugh, until the very end,” Ochola said.

“We have lost a friend. At the time of his death, he was working on a project to promote community policing, through music, drama and proactive messaging," Ochola added.

Lubwama’s friends and family yesterday, (June 12, 2023), converged at the National Theatre to pay their last respects before his sendoff on June 14.
