UGANDA | AIRLINES | FIFTH FLIGHT | JOHANNESBURG

Uganda Airlines has reinstated its fifth flight on the Entebbe-Johannesburg weekly schedule, in response to growing demand from travelers between the two destinations.

This means the national carrier is now offering five flights per week from Entebbe to Johannesburg, a city it has described as "the vibrant heart of South Africa."

Tweeting on Wednesday, the airline said it is using its smaller CRJ900 aircraft for the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Saturday flights and the Airbus A330 for the Friday flight.

The resumption of the fifth flight to Johannesburg is a result of increased demand following the lifting of almost all COVID-19 travel protocols, which had negatively impacted global air travel since the start of the pandemic in 2019.

After adding new planes to its fleet, the revamped Uganda Airlines expanded its route map to include flights from Entebbe to Johannesburg.

Having started with four Bombardier CRJ900 planes in 2019 for regional flights, Uganda Airlines welcomed two Airbus A330Neo aircraft in 2020 and 2021 to bump up the fleet to six planes.
