Residents in the Kampala Water Supply Service Area have been warned that there will be interruptions in water supply on Saturday to enable UMEME handle system upgrade works. 

In a statement released on Friday, National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NSWC) urged their customers to store water and use it sparingly.

NWSC said it usually takes some time for the system to stabilize after a total plant shutdown. 

“The Management of NWSC wishes to inform its valued customers and the general public that there will be interruptions in water supply tomorrow Saturday January 14, 2023 from 8am to 7pm,” said the statement. 

NWSC noted that this was due to a planned power shutdown by UMEME for a system upgrade. 

“The works are designed to improve power reliability at Ggaba power station. Subsequently, water supply to the entire Kampala Water Supply Service Area will be affected during the works."
