The Commander of Land Forces in the Uganda People’s Defence Forces, Lt Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has commissioned Voice of Madi, a private radio station established by the Madi-Okollo district woman Member of Parliament, Joanne Okia.

The event that attracted hundreds on Saturday took place in Ogoko village, Inde Town Council, the transmission centre of the radio.

Accompanied by his wife Charlotte, Lt. Gen Kainerugaba, urged the managers and staff to use of the radio for community awareness and educating people on various development programs, like the recently introduced Parish Development Model.

The Senior Presidential Advisor for Special Operations also commended the communities for accommodating and being tolerant of displaced persons.

Madi-Okollo district hosts over 50,000 refugees from South Sudan.
