The installation of Archbishop-designate Paul Ssemogerere as the Archbishop of Kampala Metropolitan Archdiocese got underway on Tuesday at Rubaga Cathedral. 

Ssemogerere who was appointed to the role in December by Pope Francis has been the Bishop of Kasana-Luweero replaces Archbishop Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who passed away on April 3, 2021.

The 65-year-old was ordained a priest in June 1983 by Cardinal Emmanuel Nsubuga and becomes only the fourth Archbishop of Kampala.

He arrived at Rubaga in a procession that began from Matugga where Kampala Archdiocese borders the Kasana-Luweero diocese.
