The Archbishop of the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Kampala, the Most Rev Paul Ssemogerere has appointed Fr Dr Aloysius Bwangatto as the Pastoral Coordinator of the archdiocese. The Prelate of Lubaga confirmed Bwangatto’s appointment during the Chrism mass at Lubaga Cathedral on Holy Thursday.

Speaking to New Vision about his appointment, Bwangatto said:

“The Archbishop called me and told me he wanted me to serve the archdiocese as the pastoral coordinator. I had no alternative but to obey because for us Catholic priests, obedience to the Ordinary is a crucial requirement of our ministry. My new office is very demanding but I will try my best. I just request you to pray for me because our help always comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth,” Bwangatto said.

Dr Bwangatto is a guru of Philosophy and Theology. He is currently a lecturer and the Dean of Studies at St Mbaaga;s Major Seminary Ggaba, where he will continue to serve as he also mans the office of Pastoral Coordinator at Lubaga.

Bwangatto has replaced Fr Dr Joseph Sserugga, who has served in the same capacity for relatively long. Serugga has on the other hand been appointed as the in-charge of the ministry of the elderly. He will also remain the archdiocesan Director of Catechists.
