29 new COVID-19 cases confirmed in Uganda

The ministry of health has reported 29 new coronavirus cases in Uganda, bringing the total to 127,580.

It said on Thursday that the tests it conducted on November 30 confirmed these cases out of the 5, 535 samples collected that day.

While breaking down the new cases, the ministry said Wakiso has 9, while Kampala and Oyam have five each.

Rakai and Luwero have three cases each, Kabale two, while Mbarara and Amuru had one case each.

The ministry has not reported any more COVID-19 deaths since November 27.

On November 27, it reported one death, bringing the total to 3,252.

The ministry said Thursday that those who had recovered from COVID-19 are 97, 567 and that a total of 6, 793,643 vaccine doses had been administered in the country.

In his national addresses recently, President Yoweri Museveni said that by the end of December 2021, more than 12 million Ugandans should have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

He noted that by the end of December, Uganda will have received 23 million doses of vaccines and that he will fully open up the country in January next year whether people go for vaccination or not.
