Nyamityobora FC President Ben Misagga’s resignation as the club president has been received with mixed feelings by the Mbarara-based club fans.

While a few declined to comment, many came out to show their worry about the future of the club without Misagga as the president.

“I am scared that we might not achieve our target of promotion to the UPL this season if Misagga diverts his attention as the president of the club,” said Eddie Kayemba.

Misagga tendered in his resignation letter dated November 1, on Tuesday, which, according to the club statement, was received and replied to by the club patron Ali Ssekatawa in acceptance.

“I have enjoyed serving the club and I appreciate the opportunity, however, I have decided to move on to my next challenge. I, therefore, relinquish all my rights, responsibilities, and privileges as a member and president of Nyamityobora FC,’ Said part of Misagga’s letter.

Misagga has been both an SC Villa congress member and Nyanityobora FC president and it's suspected his resignation of the latter is related to his intentions of contesting for the now delayed SC Villa presidential elections.

However, when contacted, Misagga said he’s not leaving Nyamityobora FC completely and declined to state what his next challenge was.

“It does not mean that I have only been supporting Nyamityobora FC because I have been president. I have been supporting Nyamityobora, and right now we are working out a plan for a good start to the Big league. I am still a strong supporter of Nyamityobora though now not as a president,” Misagga said.

Misagga finds himself on two fronts of keeping his mother club Nyamityobora vibrant in hopes of qualifying for the top-flight football and also keeping on the front page of the SC Villa revival campaign, the club he earlier served as president.
