EC sets date for Kayunga district chairperson by-election

Ahead of the elections, EC has set Monday, November 29, to Tuesday, November 30, 2021 as the dates of the nomination for the candidates, at the Kayunga district headquarters.

The Electoral Commission (EC) has appointed December 16, 2021, as the election date for Kayunga district LC5 chairperson.
The seat fell vacant after Ffefeka Sserubugo, the LC5 chairperson for Kayunga district, was found dead near his house, early this year.
Sserubugo' body was found hanging by the tree, near his home in Kayunga.
To replace Sserubugo, the EC has released a by-election programme ahead of the elections in December.
Ahead of the elections, EC has set Monday, November 29, to Tuesday, November 30, 2021 as the dates of the nomination for the candidates, at the Kayunga district headquarters.
" Inspection of candidates' nomination papers and lodging of complaints will begin on Wednesday 1st to Monday, December 6, 2021," EC noted in a Twitter post.
According to EC, the campaign programme harmonisation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 01, 2021.
EC noted that the campaigns will be conducted for 13 days, from Thursday, December 02, to Tuesday, December 14, 2021.
All activities according to EC, in the respective by-election will be carried out in accordance with the COVID-19 SOPs.
