Uganda to move off UK's COVID-19 red list on October 11
Uganda will on Monday, October 11, move off the red list of countries whose nationals had been banned from traveling to London, by the UK administration.
The United Kingdom (UK) in June, added Uganda to its travel ban red list, to prevent the spread of new Covid-19 variants.
The ban came at a time when Uganda was battling the second wave of the Pandemic.
The UK had earlier this year also red-listed several other countries including South Africa, the UAE, Burundi, and Rwanda, among others, in a bid to prevent the spread of new variants of Covid-19.
Uganda's moving from UK's red list comes at a time when the country is registering a steady decline in the number of Covid-19 cases and deaths.
However, according to the statement, Ugandans that will enter the UK before Monday, October 4 am, will have to follow UK' Covid-19 restrictions.
