Dennis Odwong Odongping the Gulu Resident City Commissioner has warned all hotels in the city not to receive people claiming to be guests of Gen. Salim Saleh, the national coordinator of Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) without permission from his military assistant.

In a letter dated September 13, 2021, Odongping directed all hotels to seek official reservations from Saleh's military aide Col Jimmy Nkojo. He also provided Nkojo’s contact.

"Reference is made to my meeting with you on April, 16th 2021 where you were requested not to receive and host any guest who claims to be the guest of Gen. Salim Saleh (CCO OWC and SPAD) without the official booking of his Military Assistant (Colonel Jimmy Nkojo on 0777007279)," Odongping stated.

He noted that they had continued to receive information that some hotel owners had continued to accommodate guests purporting to be Saleh’s guests despite their caution.

The RCC warned that reservations not approved by Saleh’s military adviser would not be considered.

Saleh is currently camped at Gulu and has a residence in the UPDF 4th Division Barracks which has recently been the centre of high profile visits by senior government officials, investors, artistes, and other guests.

Because of the large number of guests, most of them have since been booked in hotels as they wait for days or even weeks to see him.

Some of the government officials who have visited Saleh in Gulu; Vice President Jessica Alupo, Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja, Luweero Triangle state minister Alice Kaboyo, Kampala minister Kyofatogabye Kabuye among others.

Sources in security noted that the huge bills accrued by some of the visitors had prompted Saleh’s office to act and direct that only those with official appointments be allowed to stay.

Some artists for instance have been camped in Gulu for over four months.
