Top politicians across the country are paying tribute to tycoon Hajji Bulaimu Muwanga Kibirige, popularly known by his acronym BMK, who has died at the age of 67.

Among those celebrating his life was security minister Maj Gen (rtd) Jim Muhwezi, who said the businessman was one of Uganda's best entrepreneurs.

“I join the rest of the country to mourn the sudden demise of my brother, friend, and one of Uganda's best entrepreneurs. You have gone from our sight, but you will never leave our hearts. Fare-thee-well, BMK,” the minister tweeted.

Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago described the deceased as a great entrepreneur, philanthropist and industrious person.

“Through this book, BMK will continue to live, to teach and to inspire us. RIP,” he said.
