Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Deputy secretary general  Harold Kaija has told Uganda's electoral commission to pick a leaf from Zambia.

During a press briefing at the party head offices in Najjanakumbi on Monday, Kaija said in Africa it's very hard to defeat an incumbent because they don't want to leave power and tend to use all means to retain their positions.

He said, "the events in Zambia should be a wake-up call for Ugandan Electoral Commission bosses.

"All our EC bosses never announce what people have decided but wait for what security provides to them. Why can't they pick a lead from Esau Chulu the EC boss of Zambia," Kaija said.

On behalf of the party, he congratulated Hakainde Hichilema upon his victory over the incumbent Edgar Lungu in the just concluded elections.
He said Hichilema has been trying to take over power, for more than five times and he is the third president to take over power from opposition side.
