ARUA - It is now 28 years since President Yoweri Museveni laid the foundation stone for the construction of a four-classroom block at Arivu Secondary School, but the structure remains incomplete.

What is seen on the ground are the walls and the roof, but the floor, windows, plastering and furniture have never been fixed.

Grace Adia, the headteacher, said the state of the school infrastructure is appalling.

She asked for urgent government intervention. She also appealed to the MP for Vurra County, Yovan Adriko, to present the matter before the President so that action can be taken.

Arivu SS also lacks a laboratory. However, two classrooms were converted into laboratories.

It also has inadequate classrooms, making it difficult to manage social distancing during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

It also lacks adequate staff houses. In response, Adriko blamed the former leaders for failing to consider the school as a priority in infrastructural development.
