Upcoming artist duplicates Eezzy's Tumbiza sound song

Eezzy said if Sharp Emma wanted to be part of the remix, he should have asked for permission rather than playing around with his beats and changing his words.

KAMPALA - It looks like originality can never be guaranteed with Ugandan artistes, whether upcoming or established.

The latest culprit is a never-heard-of  kid who is trying to achieve easy fame by jumping onto Tumbiza-star Eezzy's shine for a free ride.

A one Sharp Emma Kijambiya used the situation where Eezzy was requested by the ministry of health to remix the trending hit, Tumbiza Sound, with positivity messages and quickly run to the nearest studio to record his version of the 'remix'.

Kijambiya has released "Kendeza Sound" which blatantly copies Eezzy's beat, style and sound of the original Tumbiza Sound dancehall song.

Eezzy said that he is going to consult his lawyers and his management team to see what they can do about the circulating song.

In his lyrics, Sharp Emma overturns Ezzy's Tumbiza Sound original words to positive lyrics that promote the ministry of health recommended Covid-19 SOPs but on the same beat.

The song has been circulating on social media and different music download platforms. The audio was also released with a dance video on the same day.

When contacted, Sharp Emma Kijambiya said he was testing the waters to see if it could become a hit or talk of town like the original song. He says he only shared it with one person, who shared it with different people and the next they knew, it was allover the place on social media.

He also claimsEezZy delayed to follow the Ministry of health directive of making a quick remix of the Tumbiza Sound, so he took on the challenge.

Asked why he did not seek Eezzy's permission instead of simply plagarising the song,  Kijambiya said his efforts to get in touch with Eezzy were in vain as the people de contacted either outrightly refused to connect him or asked for money in order to help him. Some even allegedly gave him a wrong numbers or sometimes a fake Eezzy to talk to.

Kijambiya says he recorded the song at an obscure studio in Gayaza.

Sharp Emma Kijambiya says he called EezZy and told him about his project and Eezzy confirmed that he has nothing against him for now.

The reason for not having an official video yet is because "I haven't gotten serious permission from the artists and his management. If he says he wants me to pull down the song, I will do. So far, I have pulled it down from some online platforms."

Kijambiya claims he later managed to speak with EezZy and told him about his project and Eezzy said he has nothing against him for now.

However, in one of the voice notes recorded while talking to EezZy, certain promoters who also happen to be part of EezZy's management are heard asking for money to pull down Kendeza Sound song from iTunes and you-tube incase the artist cannot do it himself.

When contacted, Eezzy said  he was going to consult his lawyers and his management team to see what they can do about the circulating song; adding that he invested a lot of money, energy and creativity and so can't just let people play around with his art like that.

Eezzy explained that if Sharp Emma wanted to be part of the remix, he should have ask for permission rather than playing around with his beats and changing his words.

Eezzy advises young upcoming artistes to work harder and be creative rather than copy and pasting or duplicating already credited work.

Many people that have listened to the song have trashed it saying it is fake and not worthy of a download.

The reason Kijambiya gives for the song not being vocally mature is that he is a rapper but not a vocalist.

Upcoming artistes that normally jump on already trending songs are usually seeking quick fame; but this often backfires as after just one song, most of them disappear into oblivion.
