Tumukunde visits Muhammad Kirumira's family

Muhammad Kirumira, the former DPC Buyende district was gunned down by unknown armed assailants in 2018 at Bulenga Wakiso district near his home.

Independent Presidential candidate retired Lieutenant General Henry Tumukunde on Tuesday visited the family of the late Muhammad Kirumira, at Mpambire village, Mpigi town council, Mpigi district and joined in Duwa prayers with the family for the soul of the slain Police officer.

Tumukunde was received by the father of the late Muhammad Krumira, Abubakar Kawooya, who praised Gen Tumukunde as a person who worked hard to help his late son, Kirumira while he was under detention in Nalufenya.

Muhammad Kirumira, the former DPC Buyende district was gunned down by unknown armed assailants in 2018 at Bulenga Wakiso district near his home.

Kawooya thanked Tumukunde for all the help he provided to the late Kirumira during the difficult times he went through while serving in the Police force.

Tumukunde thanked Kirumira's family for welcoming him and said Kirumira was his close friend and up to now he is still mourning his death. Tumukunde said the late was a competent police office.

Tumukunde was on his campaign trail in the district of Mpigi where he traversed   different areas in the district and in his speech, he urged people to vote for all agents of change during the forthcoming general elections.

At Mpigi town council where he held his last rally, he pledged to construct a new modern market for the market vendors which he said will save them the stress of working from a disorganised place.

"I kindly request you to vote for the agents of change if you want a better Uganda tomorrow, I promise to construct a new modern market for the market vendors in Mpigi central market to improve on the working conditions of the vendors," Tumukunde said.

He pledged to create jobs for the youth once elected president to fight the increasing levels of unemployment, especially among the youth.

Tumukunde also endorsed Hillary Kiyaga, who is running against Trade, Industry and Cooperatives minister Amelia Kyambadde for the post of Mawokota North constituency and called on all the voters to turn up in big numbers to vote for change in the area.
