Lumumba lauds Besigye on Covid fight

KAMPALA - The National Resistance Movement (NRM) secretary general, Kasule Lumumba has lauded the efforts put in by the former Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye in the fight against Covid-19.

Addressing journalists at the party headquarters located at Plot 10 Kyadondo in Kampala on Sunday, Lumumba disclosed that Besigye is the only member of the opposition who has spoken against and advised Ugandans on how to deal with Covid-19.

"While others who have even been infected with Covid and do not want to admit that they suffered it, Dr. Besigye has been so consistent from the beginning advising people whether on TV or Radio even on his social media accounts and I want to applaud him as a politician," she said.

She added; "I want to request Ugandans that as we intensify the door to door campaigns as politicians towards the January 14, let us be mindful of the people we are going to.

Let us observe the SOPs as we move to people's homes, let us observe SOPs as we hold small meetings, let us observe SOPs as we train our agents and also demand as voters, as candidates that SOPs are observed at polling stations."
