The bishop of Soroti Diocese, Kosea Odongo has urged corrupt government officials to abandon the vice and repent so that they begin the New year as holy children of God.

I pray today that may our Lord Jesus whose circumcision we remember today be able to circumcise the heart of the corrupt so that we shall see a corrupt-free nation," Bishop Odongo prayed.

He also prayed for a peaceful election that is due in two weeks' time starting with the President and Members of Parliament.

Bishop Odongo further cautioned his flock to continue observing standard operating procedures set by the ministry of health to mitigate the spread of coronavirus.

"We have not left coronavirus behind, so ensure to put on your mask, wash hands and avoid crowded places," Bishop Odongo advised.
