Christians of St Jude Catholic Church, Malaba in Tororo district are in shock after a cow that had been visiting the church every Sunday brought along its calf during a baptism ceremony on Christmas Eve.
The cow, for the last two years, had been visiting the church. It stands on the church's main entrance and leaves with Christians once the morning service is done.
The Christians said the cow has been going to church ever since it was a calf.
The parish priest, Fr Joseph Kamiza, said the cow came with its one-week-old calf while he was conducting a baptism ceremony.
He said the calf entered the church and stood by the pews while the cow stood at the rear door.
Kamiza said he poured anointing oil on the calf and it soon left the church.
He said the cow demonstrated the true belief that Jesus Christ was born a poor man, moreover, in a kraal, adding that what happened is testimony that all human beings need to accept Christ.
Kamiza appealed to the Christians to treasure each other and promote love.
He said next year, they will not baptising children without both parents.
"Most of you do not take the baptism of your children seriously. We are no longer going to offer ‘half-dose' baptism to children beginning next year. Children who receive ‘half-dose' baptism tend to have problems in future. We need all parents to be present so that the child can get full blessings,'' Kamiza said.

Indeed it is a big miracle. We have seen this cow come to church every Sunday.

Although the owner would tether the cow, it would escape with the rope and come to church.
