In the wake of this festive season, where many Ugandans on holiday feel the urge of dressing up in a more casual way, it was timely for models Judith Heard and others to hit the runway and showcase some easy-going casual outfits.
The showcase held during the fashion launch of LC Waikiki clothing line in Kampala, brought forward outfits that represented kids' wear, youthful outfits and office wear. Largely inspired by designs from Turkish designers, the outfits tickled many into acquiring some, at least for the Christmas period.
Speaking at the showcase, the Turkish Ambassador to Uganda, H.E Fikret Kerem Alp, lauded the organizers of the event, saying that integration of Turkish fashion into Uganda's fashion industry continues to compliment both industries and bring both economies together. Kerem also participated in the official opening of LC Waikiki in Uganda.
Judith Heard intimated that Ugandan designers still have a lot to learn from foreign designs and as such, opportunities like these should be embraced. She added, "I feel blessed to be part of this show, and as a model, it is always fulfilling to showcase what I do best on the runway,"
