Two family members perish in Kayunga accident
It occurred at around 6:30am as the family travelled from Kirindi in Nazigo sub-county, Kayunga district, where they had gone for Christmas holiday.
ACCIDENT
Two family members died while four others sustained serious injuries in an accident on Kayunga Road on Monday.
The accident occurred at Kikandwa, one kirometre from Kabimbiri trading centre on the Kayunga - Kampala road.
It occurred at around 6:30am as the family travelled from Kirindi in Nazigo sub-county, Kayunga district, where they had gone for Christmas holiday.
A sugarcane TATA truck UBH 955Y collided head-on with a saloon car premio UAU 944S in which the victims were travelling.
The deceased have been identified as Annet Namaganda and Agnes Nakabiri whereas Dan Kyazze the car driver, Gift Nampijja and others were first rushed to Kikandwa health center II for first aid before getting referral to Mulago hospital.
The traffic boss at Naggalama Police division, Andrew Wafula, said the bodies have been taken to Kawolo hospital mortuary.
He said investigations are being carried out to arrest the truck driver who is currently on run.
