One of the key challenges that have for a long time crippled the arts industry in Uganda is the absence of enough platforms through which they can showcase their work .
Two lifestyle platforms were launched on Wednesday at Multichoice Uganda offices in Kololo.
The two channels will move an inch further to accommodate not only more filmmakers and music producers but also other forms of content like cookery shows among others.
The platforms seeks to showcase authentic African stories that are unique to the market. With this, Ugandan filmmakers will be able to transcend the local market with their original stories.
According to Joan Ssemanda, the Public and Communications Manager of Multichoice Uganda, the various filmmakers and content creators will have to submit their work to her, following the accepted quality. She added that the producer or creator must be able to submit content that can be sustained on TV for quite a long time.
Ssemanda adds that the quality of Ugandan content from local producers will be screened in Kenya so that it meets the standards of the region.
