Ugandan missionary priest dies in Nairobi

Fr Deo Bagenda of Consolata Parish Bweyogerere has confirmed the death of Father Charles Bagenda Jjagwe who died on Friday and the burial is Thursday (December 10, 2020) in Kenya.

Jjagwe was a Ugandan Missionary priest under the congregation of Consolata, died at Wampa Parish Nairobi, where he had worked for a long time as a missionary.

"He died at Nairobi, he had complications before and may be related to the coronavirus. But we have not yet confirmed what killed him," Deo said.  

Fr Jjaggwe is from Makondo Parish in Masaka diocese and was ordained a priest on August 2, 2006.

He is survived by his mother, Nakanwagi, siblings, nieces and nephews. However, his daddy passed on some years back. 

"This is a tremendous loss, Fr Jjaggwe was a great priest, he used to help us at Bweyogerere," Deo said.

He will be laid to rest in Nairobi on Thursday (December 10, 2020).
