Solicitor General says Ntambi issue should be sent to President

The solocitor General has advised the Ministry of Gender, Labour and Social Development's permanent secretary Aggrey Kibenge, not to sack the Equal Opportunities chairperson Sylivia Muweebwa Ntambi but channel the matter to the President.

In a December 2, 2020 letter, signed on behalf of the Solicitor General, by H Tukamushaba says, "Our Opinion is that the Permanent Secretary, (in the gender ministry) does not have the mandate to interdict Ms. Sylivia Muwebwa Ntambi. Accordingly, we advise that you bring the matter to the attention of the supervising minister (gender ministry) so that he may in turn bring it to the attention of the President for the requisite action.
