The Kabaka of Buganda, Ronald Muwenda Mutebi, has condemned the killing of over 50 Ugandans by the Police and army during the recent protests sparked off by the arrest and detention of the National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi.

The Kabaka wants the killings investigated and culprits brought to book.

"I send out my condolences to the families that lost their people who were killed on 18th and 19th of this month. I sympathise with those who are still struggling with injuries in hospitals," the Kabaka said.

The Kabaka made reference to the Uganda protests of 1945 against the colonialists during which eight people were killed.
