Toro's Palace keeper passes on

Muhangaizima succumbed to diabetes at the Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital Buhinga after being bed ridden for over 3 years now.

Charles Muhangaizima who has been working as a Palace Keeper for King Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru has passed on.

Muhangaizima has been serving at King Oyo's Fort Portal Palace at Karuzika.

Muhangaizima succumbed to diabetes at the Fort Portal Regional Referral Hospital Buhinga after being bed ridden for over 3 years now.

"It's a huge loss for the King and the Kingdom at large" Charles Kamurasi the head of Toro's Babiito royal clan told the New Vision.

"Muhangaizima has been a Palace keeper not a house keeper" Kamurasi clarified. Adding that the late has been in charge of sanitation, cleanliness and hygiene at Karuzika hill.

"He has also been the custodian of the Toro Kingdom history," Kamurasi added.

Kamurasi said that the late Muhangaizima will always be remembered in the history of Toro for having been among the people who agitated for the restoration of the Kingdom in the 1990's.

Patrick Muganzi the Toro Kingdom Deputy Prime Minister has praised the late Muhangaizima for having served the King with loyalty.

"He started serving in the capacity of Palace Keeper in the year 1993. Since then he has remained loyal to the King and committed to his duties" Muganzi said.

The late Muhangaizima has traditionally been known and referred to as Kibaale.
