'Dr Bbosa' dismisses social media claims on COVID-19 sickness

KAMPALA - Senior artiste Sam Bagenda aka Dr Bbosa has dismissed allegations that he is critically sick of COVID-19.
 
Bagenda, the lead actor with the Ebonies, said he was shocked by social media claims that he was critically ill. 

"I want to assure everybody that I am physically and mentally normal and right now I am in a saloon preparing to go for my last rehearsals for our online show," the jovial Bagenda stated.
 
Social media was awash with news that the actor who has been with the Ebonies since 1988, was sick and being aided by a life support machine to breathe. 

A professional accountant, Bagenda said he started hearing the rumours about his health and downplayed it "but it started spreading like bushfire". 

"I had thought it would end so soon but I am surprised that it is now everywhere," he stated. 

According to Bagenda, he had been receiving calls from his fans, almost interrupting his rehearsals. He said he has an online live show on Sunday. 

He said like other artistes, the Ebonies were eagerly waiting for the Government to lift the lockdown on music shows and drama, which he said had largely impacted the industry.
