President Yoweri Museveni's address to the nation, which was supposed to take place on Sunday at 7:00 pm, has been postponed.

The Senior Press Secretary to the President, Don Wanyama, in a tweet on Sunday afternoon says, "The Presidential Address that was scheduled for 7:00 pm today has been deferred to a new date that will be announced. We regret the inconveniences."

The President has planned, starting this Sunday, to address the nation every Sunday. Wanyama, and the government spokesperson Ofwono Opondo had earlier confirmed this position.

It is not yet clear why the address has been called off.

Museveni was set to address the nation, about security and economic recovery; following the COVID-19 era, which sent the country into a lockdown, and the riots last week, which left 30 dead and several others injured.
