By Saturday morning army mambas (armored vehicles) were seen driving through the streets backed by heavily armed security personnel, who include the army, anti-riot police and Local Defense Units (LDUs).

Police arrested Kyagulanyi, popularly known as Bobi Wine, on Wednesday (November 18, 2020) as he campaigned in Luuka, eastern Uganda.

The arrest came just hours after police released a statement cautioning candidates against violating COVID-19 rules.

Chaos erupted as Kyagulanyi's supporters gathered in several parts of the country, chanting Wine's name and setting fires in roads. In response, Police tear gassed them and fired live bullets to disperse them.

According to a statement released on Firday, November 20, 2020, by the Police, 28 people have so far been killed as a result while several others are nursing injuries in different hospitals across the country.
