Museveni opens sh29.6b Hotel Africana in Moroto

The hotels are envisaged to drive tourism in Karamoja sub-region.

President Yoweri Museveni has today opened a sh29.6b Hotel African Moroto in Karamoja sub-region.

While opening the structure owned by BMK Group, the President promised more funds to the Uganda Development Bank in order to support manufacturing, agriculture and agro-processing.

The hotel is the third after the one in Kampala which opened in 1997 and another in Lusaka, Zambia commissioned in January this year. 

According to one of the directors, Haruna Kibirige, two more hotels are planned in Arua and Pakwach.

The hotels are envisaged to drive tourism in Karamoja sub-region.

Museveni congratulated Bulaimu Muhammad Kibirige, the Proprietor of BMK Group of Companies, for the investment and wished him a speedy recovery.


 
Bulaimu has been unwell for some time and has been receiving treatment at the Aga Khan Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya.
