President Yoweri Museveni will this Sunday, November 22, address the nation on the current security situation.
This was revealed by the spokesperson of the Government, Ofwono Opondo, during a talk show last night.
"He will be addressing the nation, especially in relation to the riots which have been happening in various parts of the country," he said.
Several people have died in various parts of the country and 80 others injured according to the Police and other reports in various parts of the country; following protests against the arrest of National Unity Platform's Robert Kyagulanyi.
Kyagulanyi, who is in the race for the President's seat, was arrested on Wednesday on allegations of breached guidelines against the spread of COVID-19 during his campaign rallies.
Patrick Amuriat of the Forum for Democratic Change was also arrested in Gulu over the same issue and later granted Police bond.
Kyagulanyi is yet to be released.
Speaking during his meeting with National Resistance Movement leaders in Kotido, Museveni warned that those involved in the riots will face the consequences.
