Parliament pays tribute to MP Watongola

Meanwhile, in the same sitting in which MPs paid tribute to fallen MP Rehema Watongola a  section of legislators have faulted the ministry of health for failing to provide face masks to Ugandans in the fight against COVID 19.

TRIBUTE

Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga has dismissed allegations that parliament did not contribute to the burial arrangements of the fallen legislator Hajat Rehema Wetongola.

Wetongola succumbed to Covid 19 at Mulago Hospital on November 14, 2020While opening  Thursday's parliamentary session Kadaga said that the allegations were baseless and tasked the ministry of health to avail a postmortem report to stop rumors indicating that the deceased was poisoned.

Meanwhile, in the same sitting in which MPs paid tribute to fallen MP Rehema Watongola , a  section of legislators have faulted the ministry of health for failing to provide face masks to Ugandans in the fight against COVID 19.

The MPs led by Katikamu North's Abraham Byandala told parliament that the masks were distributed in only 71 districts yet parliament passed sh30b shilling to buy the masks.
