Amuriat released, Kyagulanyi to spend a night in Nalufenya

Amuriat was released without recording a statement after the leader of opposition Betty Aol Acan stood surety for him.

GULU - Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) Presidential aspirant Patrick Amuriat Oboi was this evening released from Gulu Police Station. 

Amuriat was released without recording a statement after the leader of opposition Betty Aol Acan stood surety for him. 

Aswa Regional Police Commander Ezekiel Emitu confirmed Amuriat had been released on bail. 

"He declined to record a statement but we have released him on bond, "Emitu confirmed.

He is expected to be in Nwoya tomorrow for his campaigns.

National Unity Platform Presidential Aspirant Robert Kyagulanyi meanwhile will be spending a night at the Nalufenya police station after sources told New Vision that he declined police bond.

By press time, NUP supporters led by party Spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi and Kampala City NUP Lord Mayor Nabillah Ssegayi were still at Nalufenya, hoping to see their party, President.

NUP however stated that police had denied Kyagulanyi access to his lawyer following his arrest in Luuka on Wednesday morning.
