Voter asks Electoral Commission to inspect Museveni papers

KAMPALA - A Ugandan voter, describing himself as the Voice of the Downtrodden of Rubaga South, Habib Buwembo, has written to the Electoral Commission requesting he gets access to inspect President Yoweri Museveni's nomination papers.

He claims that he wants to lodge a complaint of fraud and forgery against President Museveni. 

The letter, which was received by the Electoral Commission on Tuesday says, "As you are aware on the 2nd November, 2020, you nominated Mr. Tibuhaburwa Yoweri Kaguta Museveni premised on the nomination papers filed with the returning officer." 

"As a registered voter, vide CM82101106615C and in exercise of my civic duty under Section 9 (b) of the Presidential Act, 2005; I request (to) inspect the Presidential nomination papers presented by Mr. Tibuhaburwa Yoweri Kaguta Museveni." 

"The above will aid me lodge a complaint of fraud and forgery against Mr. Tibuhaburwa and fortify the truth about his systematic forgery of academic papers, falsifying his age, and other complaints touch his integrity and moral turpitude." 

By press time, Museveni's team had not yet been reached; for its response on the matter. 

Much as there is this call for inspection, this is the sixth time the national electoral commission has been clearing President Yoweri Museveni to compete for the Presidency. 

In all the past five times, he has won his opponents in the Presidential elections. 

Museveni is competing against 10 others to retain his Presidential seat, in national elections to be held in January next year.
